The Auckland Youth group continued their annual programmes during the week by organizing a medical outreach for elderly people in Ikorodu, on Wednesday, with about 100 people benefiting from the free tests and drugs at the outreach held at Itun – Nla area of Ikorodu.

This is coming after the group distributed school bags to school pupils last Monday.

The initiative, which was organized in conjunction with Auckland Flotilla Limited, was tagged, ‘G.A Free Medical Checkup for Elders in Ikorodu’, and named after a member of the group who was murdered last year, Mr Lateef Idris Adewale.

Auckland Chairman, Mr. Abayomi Akeem, said that the group is giving back to the society, especially to the elderly, through the medical outreach.

“This is one of our initiatives through which we give back to our community. It is a free medical outreach for the elderly people in our society. We are organizing this to support them medically”, he said.

“Embarking on community based activities is our ways of assisting the government and our own community to be better.

He thanked members of the group for their support and commitment.
